When is ECB2026?

ECB2026 will be held from 28 June to 1 July 2026.

Where is ECB2026 held?

The congress takes place in Antwerp, Belgium, at the unique venue A Room with a ZOO — the Antwerp Zoo Convention Centre.

ECB2026 is aimed at a broad biotechnology audience including:

The programme features plenary lectures, symposia across four scientific streams, networking opportunities, and a trade exhibition — making it valuable for anyone involved in biotechnology research or application.

How do I submit abstracts?

Abstract submission for ECB2026 is done online through the official Abstract Submission Portal on the congress website.

Key points for submission:

    • You must create an account to submit and abstracts must be in English.

    • Abstracts can be submitted for oral presentations, poster presentations, or flash poster presentations.

    • All presenting authors must register and pay the registration fee for the abstract to be accepted.

Specific guidelines on formatting and limits (e.g., max word counts) are available on the abstract submission page.

How can I register?

Registration for ECB2026 is now open. Early bird discounts are available for a limited time, so make sure to secure your place before 26 April to benefit from the reduced rate.

How can I get a visa invitation letter?

Participants can request a visa invitation letter during the registration process.

Please note the visa invitation letter does not exempt attendees from complying with all requirements regarding registration and payment for their participation, accommodation and travel. 

When can I submit an abstract, and what is the deadline?

The Abstract Submission Portal is open please visit the abstract page for more information. The deadline for abstract submissions is 15 March 2026 at 23:59 UTC.

How do I get tickets for networking events?

Tickets for networking events will be available shortly and you will be able to purchase them during the registration process.

Is the venue accessible?

A Room with a ZOO is wheelchair friendly. Every one of their rooms is accessible by elevator or ramp and wheelchair seating is available in the theatre hall.

Do I need to register to present?

Yes. All presenting authors must be fully registered and have paid the registration fee by the stated deadline in order for their abstract to be included in the programme and abstract book. Authors are unable to present virtually.

When do I receive my congress badge?

A name badge is provided when you arrive at the congress venue. Name badges must be always worn and visible during the Congress and at networking events. 

Certificate of attendance

The certificates of attendance will be provided to all participants who complete the online evaluation survey.

Certificate of presentation

Certificates of presentation will be sent to all presenters 2 weeks after the congress.

What is the congress language?

The official congress language is English. 

There will be no simultaneous translation in any other language.
