Abstract submission
The ECB2026 Abstract Submission Portal is now open!
We invite you to submit original research aligned with one of the following scientific streams:
- Innovations for healthy living
- Solutions for a sustainable planet
- Manufacturing with microbes
- Feeding the planet
Whether you’re presenting cutting-edge developments or sharing emerging findings, this is your opportunity to contribute to the scientific dialogue at one of Europe’s leading biotechnology congresses.
Submission guidelines
- You may submit one abstract as presenting author.
- Abstracts must be submitted via the official online Abstract Submission Portal. A link will be provided when the portal opens.
- You must create an account to submit. Please use a professional email address—abstracts submitted from personal email accounts (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo) will not be considered for oral presentations.
- All presenting authors must register and pay the congress registration fee in order for their abstract to be accepted.
Formatting requirements
- Title: maximum of 20 words
- Abstract body: maximum of 250 words (excluding title and authors)
- No images or tables allowed
- Use standard abbreviations and SI units; define any non-standard abbreviations on first use
- Abstracts must be submitted in English
- Abstracts will not be edited; accuracy is the responsibility of the submitting author
Presentation types
- Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentation.
- Authors may also opt in to be considered for a Flash Poster Presentation by selecting the relevant box during submission.
- Final decisions on presentation format (oral, flash poster, or standard poster) will be made by the Scientific Programme Committee.
Key dates
- Submission Deadline: 15 March 2026 (23:59 CET)
- Notification of acceptance: authors will be informed by the beginning of April 2026 whether their abstract has been accepted for an oral or flash poster presentation.
What happens after submission?
- You will receive a confirmation email once your abstract is successfully submitted.
- The Scientific Programme Committee will review abstracts on a rolling basis.
- Authors will be notified of acceptance and presentation format following the submission deadline.
Important information
- Only one abstract per presenting author is permitted. You may be listed as a co-author on additional abstracts.
- Abstract presenters must be registered for the congress by 26 April 2026.
- Abstracts will not be included in the programme or abstract book unless the registration fee has been paid in full.
Publication
All accepted abstracts will be considered for publication in a special issue of EFB journal, New Biotechnology, which is published by Elsevier.
